SPECIAL TOPIC: ACACIA WOOD
According to UBS Fauna and Flora of the Bible (pp. 87-88), this was a common,
desert evergreen tree. It normally grew in dry conditions (i.e., wadis), which
made its growth slow and its wood hard. Therefore, it was good for building
furniture or, in this case, the tabernacle structure and furniture. Its wood was
a brownish orange (BDB 1005).
