SPECIAL TOPIC: QUESTIONS ABOUT JESUS’ RETURN

Mark 13:4, “when will these things be said, and what will be the sign
when all these things are going to be fulfilled,” lists questions His disciples
had and Matt. 24:3 records expanded questions. There were several events that
these disciples wanted to know about:

1. the time of the destruction of the temple

2. the time of the Second Coming

3. the time of the end of the age

The disciples probably thought all three would happen at one time. Notice
Jesus merges the temporal and the eschatological, just as the OT prophets did.
