SPECIAL TOPIC: AUTHOR/LEADER (ARCHĒGOS)

SPECIAL TOPIC: AUTHOR/LEADER (archgēos)

The term “author” or “leader” is the Greek term
archēgos. It comes from
the Greek root “beginning” (
archē)
and “to go” or “to lead” (
agō).
This compound came to be used of a ruler, prince, or leader (human or angelic).
The term is only used four other times in the NT to refer to Jesus:

1. Prince or author of life in Acts 3:15

2. Prince or leader and savior in Acts 5:31

3. Author of their salvation in Heb. 2:10

4. Author (or pioneer) and perfecter of the faith in Heb. 12:2

Jesus is the starter, the provider, and the finisher of salvation.
